The North America Invitational 7s
Comes to Salt Lake 

Not many events in Salt Lake have seen the wild growth and enormous popularity that NAI7s brings. The North America Invitational 7s is an elite series for youth academy rugby players to show their talent. Salt Lake expects to see close to 100 of the best youth rugby teams in North America descend upon the Salt Lake City Regional Athletic Complex on August 2-3 2019.

Utah Tennis Works Hard to Expand the Sport

Zone Team Championships (Zonals) will take place this July 26-30, and provides an opportunity for youth players play on a fun team and to develop and improve physical, mental, and emotional skills. It also allows players to experience a competitive team atmosphere and on-court coaching, just like college tennis. Congratulations to Utah Tennis for all the had work with this event and others coming up!

TBT: Salt Lake City Regional

Get ready for MORE basketball! The Basketball Tournament (TBT), the $2 million take all high-stakes brand of basketball took place at the Maverik Center July 25-27. In a new format that was rolled out this summer, the first three rounds of TBT were held at Regional host cities, with eight Regional winners advancing to Championship Weekend in Chicago.

Be a Legend

Legends Lacrosse invaded Salt Lake this July during the Western Nationals with approximately 5,000 total attendees. These were comprised of athletes, parents, spectators, staff, etc. The event has grown tremendously over the past three years, thanks in large part to the dediction of the Legends staff working hard to create a "must attend" event.

Game Changer -
Rory Doucette

Visit Salt Lake congratulates Rory Doucette with Legends Lacrosse as our Game Changer for July. Rory has an extensive history in the lacrosse industry, and served as the VP of Adrenaline Lacrosse for over eight years. Rory co-founded Legends Lacrosse with Scott Hochstadt, and immediately began conversations with Visit Salt Lake on bringing an annual youth event to our destination. Rory is now on year three with the tournament, and with his leadership the event has grown from a fairly small event to over 5,000 total attendees in 2019.

3v3 NBA Style

To build on the hype of the Salt Lake Summer League, the Utah Jazz once again launched the SLC Summer League 3v3 adjacent to the arena. Despite hot payment and sunshine, all ages of basketball lovers showed up to put their skills to the test in the 3v3 challenge.

Salt Lake City Summer League

The NBA Salt Lake City Summer League proved once again to be a smashing success. The newly rebranded tournament featured four teams playing over a three-day, six-game event at the Vivint Smart Home Arena.
