Salt Lake Madness

March Madness has left Salt Lake, but the economic boom will be felt for quite some time. Visit Salt Lake hosted 26,000 fans, with more than 6,500 from out of town. Approximately 13,000 hotel room nights were consumed by teams, staff, bands, cheer, alumni, and many many fans.

PAC-12 Gymnastics
Championship a
Huge Success

Not to be out shined by the March Madness, the PAC-12 made their own impact on Salt Lake over the same weekend. The PAC-12 Gymnastics Championships were hosted at the Maverik Center in front of a large crowd of more than 8,600 fans. Utah ended up taking second, falling to UCLA in the finals.

It's Time for FitCon 

The 4th annual Fitcon is scheduled to take place April 12-13, and Salt Lake expects over 25,000 attendees with dozens of individual sporting events taking place. Fitcon has added new events each year, and 2019's lineup includes intriguing sports like sumo wrestling, axe throwing, stone lifting, and parkour.

Weightlifting in an Olympic City

The USA Masters Weightlifting 2019 National Championships takes place in the Salt Palace ballroom this March 28-31. Over 800 lifters from around the country will converge on the venue that was used during the 2016 USA Weightlifting Olympic Trials event. Salt Lake's own Debbie Millet is widely known for her amazing hosting capabilities when it comes to the sport, and she will once again roll the carpet out for the upcoming tournament.

Game Changer - Caryn Bradshaw

Visit Salt Lake would like to thank our very own Sports Services Manager, Caryn Bradshaw, for her amazing and dedicated work during the March Madness 1st & 2nd Rounds. Caryn juggled weekly conference calls, monthly meetings, soliciting and managing volunteers, lodging liaison for teams, and communicating with hotels just to name a few of her duties. Ultimately, her devotion to serving our host partners at the University of Utah and the NCAA only elevated the experience for teams and fans.

Returns to Salt Lake

The USA Fencing D1/Wheelchair National Championships AND April North American Cup will soon soar into Salt Lake in April. They will bring an estimated 3,100 total attendees from out of state. This is an event that you won't want to miss.
