THE SPIRITS AT
ALTA'S PERUVIAN BAR

Alta has its fair share of spirits. It was an old mining town in the late 1800s, filled with saloons, brothels, and murder. After the silver boom it became a ghost town, and in 1938, the ski resort was opened. In 1948 the Peruvian Lodge opened its doors, and in 1971 the Peruvian Bar opened. After a long day of skiing, come sit with friends, talk about the turns, dance to the tunes, and enjoy some spirits at 8,500 feet.

MEET ALTA'S CUTEST FULL-TIME EMPLOYEE

Avalanche dogs are an incredible asset to any resort’s snow safety team. If you spend a day at Alta, you might just spy the cutest member of their patrol squad: Lucy. A red blur in constant motion, Lucy can be seen galloping around the base area in her uniform, riding lifts, or catching snowmobile rides. In her short time at Alta, she’s reached celebrity status and we took some time with Lucy’s human, Dave, to learn about her journey from puppy to certified rescue dog.
