Without question, the most oooh and ahhh-worthy Christmas lights in Salt Lake are those at Temple Square, the city’s most visited attraction. It’s been an annual tradition since 1965, with approximately one million LED lights now twinkling to life each season, all across the historic 35-acre square. The 150th Anniversary of The Golden Spike

Next summer, Promontory Summit, a little territory two hours outside of Salt Lake will be the hub of one of the biggest celebrations in the State’s history. People from all over Utah and the nation will come together to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the driving of the last spike of the Transcontinental Railroad. This iconic event, known as the Golden Spike, helped put Utah on the map and gave us the nickname as the Crossroads of the West.
