Game Changer - Matt Williams

This month's Game Changer goes to Matt Williams, the CEO of Jam On It. Matt's relationship with the community of Salt Lake, and his belief that our destination could be a hub for major events has led Jam On It to produce and operate three separate tournaments in the city. Salt Lake appreciates Jam On It's commitment to us, and the wonderful impact the events create in our community. Visit Salt Lake had the privilege of golfing with Matt last month in a local tournament, as we celebrated the 8th year of the Big Mountain Jam in Salt Lake.

This August Visit Salt Lake will host Connect Marketplace, which includes Connect Sports. Connect Sports is the only fully hosted-buyer program designed for the sporting event and tourism industry. It enhances skills, teaches about trending topics, and allows for networking. It drivies more business by bringing together the sports tourism industry’s top event organizers, NGBs, suppliers and industry experts. Salt Lake's Olympic Spirit is Still Going Strong

The 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City brought a buzz that was unprecedented in a state known for its sobriety. Every citizen found a spirit and sense of local pride beyond anything they'd ever known, and volunteers lined up in droves to get in on the action. Over a decade later, locals and visitors alike can enjoy all the facilities developed for those 2002 games. Each venue remains in place and has been repurposed and extended for everyone from local schoolkids to professional athletes to use. Each place is both a monument to mind-blowing athleticism and a resource for those who want to experience the thrill of the games firsthand.
